Thanks for getting this information. I’ve linked my readers to your site. This is a very important issue here in Oklahoma.
My fathers ancestors of the Chickasaw Tribe was given water rights for the water that crossed the Red River when he built the Red River Bridge and the Colberts Ferry that crossed over to Texas for as long as the river flowed and the grass growed… this was approved by the Chickasaws and the Choctaws.
I’m a native Chickasaw and Choctaws tribe member sad to say that millions of areas of land were taken from my tribes members without fair compensation. President Jackson disregarded the Supreme Court ruling and forced the tribes to leave there land. It was wrong old trikbe members and young members died on the way to Oklahoma. Descendants of tribe members should have the entitlement rights to be conpensated for the ill treatment their ancestors.
