Greetings,
I wondering if you would post some information concerning the current fight against Uranium mining in Ontario, in which Ardoch Algonquin leader Robert Lovelace has been jailed for 6 months and fined $25,000 for his refusal to stop protesting Frontenac Ventures’ uranium exploration and proposed open pit uranium mine on aboriginal lands that have neve been ceded to Canada. Co-Chief Paula Sherman, and the Ardoch Algonquin band have also been fined $15,000 and 10,000 respectively in an effort to silence the protest. A parallel battle is occurring further north, where the Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug (KI) band are resisting uranium mining and also face court-imposed injunctions and fines.
