United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights

Indigenous Fellows Programme, Geneva.  The summer program includes four weeks of intensive training on international instruments and advocacy strategies and the opportunity to participate in UN sessions. The program offers a chance to learn the substance and process of international human rights law, in a community of indigenous people who become lifelong colleagues. Applicants must be of indigenous origin with a nominating letter from their tribe or organization (need not be law students). Applications for next summer are due on August 30. The Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Tribes Reservation

RFP Will Estate Attorney Services. The goals of this Program are to encourage that trust property be devised to CTUIR members without further fractionalization or leaving trust status through BIA probate process. The Program provides individual Clients with legal services that result in completion and confidential filing of a will and estate-planning documents with the CTUIR Enrollment Office. Mille Lacs Band

Tribal Court Staff Attorney, Onamia, MN. The Court Attorney is responsible for research and analyzing complex legal issues and questions raised in cases heard in District Court.  The position will also provide support in the context of drafting, preparing and maintaining legal documents for court cases.  The Court Attorney will serve in a confidential capacity and work with substantial independence; however, collaboration with the judicial body and court administration will be required.  The Court Attorney will supervise the law clerks, interns and externs. AUSA (Criminal), Muscogee, OK. The applicant will join other criminal AUSAs who handle a wide variety of litigation. The criminal division investigates and prosecutes federal cases arising from a wide array of criminal activity. The typical criminal caseload for an attorney may involve major drug cases, gang-related violent crimes, other crimes of violence, computer crimes including child pornography, and sophisticated white-collar offenses.
